Settings
From Searchbastard
There are multiple ways to open Settings:
- Click on the Searchbastard icon in the searchbar, the toolbox or in the status bar
- In the Functions menu, choose on "Searchbastard Settings"
- In Addons, click Settings
Most of the Searchbastard settings can be set up in Settings. (Exceptions are: Items can be duplicated on the toolbar, but not in Settings, and that the layout of the frames in multisearch-frames are done by clicking the "Edit" button below the frames). Much of the setup that can be done in Settings can also be done directly on the toolbar. You can for example rearrange the items on a bar using drag/drop.

General Settings
When Settings is opened, it looks like the screenshot above. The left pane shows a tree. The right pane shows the properties of the selected item. On the screenshot, you see that "General settings" is selected in the tree. Correspondingly, the right pane shows "General settings". The general settings are split into several tabs, each covered in separate articles: General, Selection search, Import/Export and Advanced
Bar properties
As mentioned in the Guided tour, there are two search bars: The toolbox and the searchbar. You can set the properties of a bar, by clicking on it in the tree. The properties are covered in detail here: Bar Properties. You can create groups on the bar, by clicking "Create Group"
Group properties
Selecting a group causes the group properties to be shown in the right pane. The group can be opened by clicking the "+" sign, or clicking the right arrow key. Groups can be moved up and down by clicking on the arrow images beneath the tree. Groups can be nested. To create a subgroup, click on the "Create subgroup" button. You can also move a group into another by clicking on the icon with the arrow pointing right. It's disabled on the screenshot, because "Fav" cannot be moved into "Google", because "Google" is an engine. Selecting "eng-dan" would enable the "move right" button, and clicking it would move "eng-dan" into "fav". Group properties are covered in details here: Group Properties
Engine properties
Engines can be moved into and out of groups by clicking on the right arrow and the left arrow respectively. Clicking on the left arrow in the screenshot above would cause the Chambers dictionary engine to be moved out of the "fav" group and positioned after the Google engine. Final words
Note that your changes are not saved until you press the "Ok" button. Clicking the "Cancel" button discards all you changes. Closing the window in other ways also causes the changes to be discarded.
