Q: How does this FAQ work ?
A: First check if your question is answered. If not, then post your question, by editing this page. Nice guys have added this page to their watchlist, so they will be notified by email. And hopefully you will soon have your answer ready. You can get notified automatically, by clicking "watch" (you must create an account, and log in, to use this feature)
Q: Where do I get the Searchbastard Addon?
A: Go here: Install
Q: Some engines takes over the whole page in multisearch-frames. Is this a bug? Is there a workaround?
A: No, its not a bug. Yes, there is a workaround. The thing is that some search engines do not want to be in a frame, because the owners are afraid that their service is misused. Therefore they add a little script to the page that checks if the document is in a frame. If it is, the top document is replaced with their page. To avoid this from happening, you can however create a Searchbastard engine and set the "allowJavascript" attribute of the Get/Post tag to "false". If you don't know how to create a Searchbastard engine, you can request it in Engine requests. Btw: I'm concidering implementing a feature which allows you to convert a firefox engine to a Searchbastard engine.
Q: Settings does not work
A: If settings are set to illegal values, it's possible that Settings will not work. Normal usage will not get you into this situation, but it might happen if you import a file that you have edited manually, or edit the configuration directly in about:config. Defining a child in a group to be the group itself is an example of trouble. To get out of this situation, you will have to reset the settings. In the Tools menu, right-click on Searchbastard settings and select "Reset settings"
Q: How do I remove the toolbar?
A: You can disable the toolbar, by right-clicking on the searchbastard icon in the status bar, and choose "show searchbar". If you do this, the add-on will still be active, and you can still use the other features of the add-on. To uninstall the add-on entirely, choose Tools | Add-ons, find the Searchbastard add-on, and click the "uninstall" button.
Q: Is there any searchbastard forum to send "not that frequent and probably not a bug" questions or simply to share user experiences?
A: Well, I created a facebook page for this recently, but currently I'm the only user... Searchbastard on facebook. But somebody has to be the first that is not me... But I guess facebook isn't the best choice for a fora. If anybody knows a better solution, please tell me. Btw, feel free to use this wiki actively. You can for example add your question under a new headline in the Bugs page, or create a new page for user-to-user tips and talk
